This post will introduce a simple udev rule and ~$20 in #USB hardware that effectively implements a kill cord Dead Man Switch to trigger your machine to self-destruct in the event that you’re kicked out of the helm position.
This post demystifies what “support” means in the context of #Linux #support, how it differs from security maintenance, and why both are essential for modern organizations. Through real-world examples and deep dives into #Canonical’s support processes, you’ll discover how #Ubuntu Pro + Support empowers teams to build, scale, and secure their infrastructure with confidence.
#Gradia was already a solid app with a focused feature set and a UI that, dare I say it, is delightful to use, making it easy to add text to #screenshots in #Ubuntu along with arrows (great for bug reports). But it can open and work with any image file, not just screenshots.
Read on for a quick rundown of the cool new features Gradia’s developers have added in the latest release.

Turn a fresh #Ubuntu installation into a fully-configured, beautiful, and modern web development system by running a single command. That's the one-line pitch for Omakub. No need to write bespoke configs for every essential tool just to get started or to be up on all the latest command-line tools. Omakub is an opinionated take on what #Linux can be at its best.
ProxLB is an advanced load balancing solution specifically designed for #Proxmox clusters, addressing the absence of a Dynamic Resource Scheduler (DRS) that is familiar to VMware users. As a third-party solution, ProxLB enhances the management and efficiency of Proxmox clusters by intelligently distributing workloads across available nodes. Workloads can be balanced by different times like the guest's memory, CPU or disk usage or their assignment to avoid overprovisioning and ensuring resources.
"Virtual Trusted Platform Modules (vTPM) in Hyper-V allow you to run guest operating systems, such as Windows 11 or Windows Server 2025 with security features enabled. One of the challenges of vTPMs is that they rely on certificates on the local Hyper-V server. Great if you’re only running the VM with the vTPM on that server, but a possible cause of issues if you want to move that VM to another server.
In this article I’ll show you how to manage the certificates that are associated with vTPMs so that you’ll be able to export or move VMs that use them, such as Windows 11 VMs, to any prepared Hyper-V host you manage."

"In today's short and sweet #100DaysToOffload (post 005!), I would like to show off an #ansible playbook for creating VMs in #Proxmox.
I wrote this playbook several weeks ago when I was trying to stretch the limits of what I could do with Ansible. It would be much better to do this with #opentofu or #terraform but I thought this was a fun exercise."

Since it was first released there has been widespread concern about Windows 10's data collection, as the operating system collects various kinds of data and sends it back to Microsoft. The company says it uses this information to determine how well systems are running and get a heads up on problems that users are facing. Telemetry isn't new to Windows, but prior to Windows 10 it was always opt-in, through schemes such as the Customer Experience Improvement Program and Windows Error Reporting. If you didn't want to send anything, you could turn it all off.
Third-party tracking is becoming a prevalent practice in mobile app ecosystems. While providing benefits for app developers, this practice also introduces several privacy issues for end-users. The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive (ePD) mandate that mobile apps must obtain user consent before sharing users’ personal data with third-party trackers. This work presents an empirical study investigating the compliance of 400 popular mobile apps (200 Android apps and their corresponding version for iOS) with the ePD and GDPR requirements on valid consent.
εxodus analyses Android applications. It looks for embedded trackers and lists them. A tracker is a piece of software meant to collect data about you or what you do. In a way, εxodus reports are a way of knowing what really are the ingredients of the cake you are eating. εxodus does not decompile applications, its analysis technique is entirely legal.
